Learn: the key idea
Density tells you the mass of each unit of volume. Mass = density × volume, and volume = mass ÷ density.
Worked example
A block has volume 20 cm³ and density 7 g/cm³. Find its mass.
- 1Mass = density × volume.
- 27 × 20 = 140.
Answer: 140 g
