Writing conclusions in context
Objective. State a statistical conclusion in the language of the problem.
The key idea
Never say H₀ is 'true' or 'proved'. Say there is or is not sufficient evidence at the stated level to support the alternative, and mention the real-world quantity.
Worked example
p-value 0.021 at 5% for the biased coin test. Conclude.
- 10.021 < 0.05, so reject H₀.

Answer: There is sufficient evidence at the 5% level that the coin favours heads
